AUTOMATED TWIT V NELLIE

I'm standing 'ere at brektime
Te drink me cup o' tea,
Thinkin' abowt yon blessed machine
Delivrin' lukewarm coffee.

Who started bringin' these things 'ere?
The automated twit!
'e wants te stand around with me
Te sample sum of it.

An' there's another reason
That I just 'ate 'is guts,
Cause 'e got rid of Nellie
An' you know 'ow deep that cuts.

Nellie wus owr tea lady
She cud always raise a cheer
A round, roly-poly person,
Not cold metal, hard an' bare.

She wud gi' us aw the chit-chat
An' aw the local scandal
Askin' abowt owr families,
A real owd-fashioned gal.

She'd remember aw abowt us
Listenin' te troubles 'n' cries
Laffin' wi' owr good fortune
Or generally sympathise.

I know it's ownly small talk
An' I know it's nuthin' new
But people just like Nellie
Are so very, very few.

So you who browt this box o' tricks
Had better now beware
'Cause if I clap me eyes on ye,
I'll show ye 'ow I care.
