/ Songwriter / Poet / Writer /...Ann spent most of her early Life in the 'industrial-lands' of the North-West of England singing in Sunday School at the age of four, to the National Youth Choir, local skiffle bands and onward to the folk clubs, pubs and various venues throughout the 1960's. Known as Annmarie in the North, she won many awards for speaking and verse around this time and went on to duet with such names as Garth Elliot, Ossie Williams, singing with The McCalmans as well as soloing and winning talent contests in Blackburn, Bolton, Chorley and Wales. Ann was involved with 'Ken Cambells Roadshow', including at the time...Bob Hoskins, Sylvester McCoy, Dave Hill and Bernie Bullfrog, which took Theatre to the Docks of Liverpool and many other more inaccesible places for people that couldn't afford theatre prices; She has also managed to create and perform in a number of charity concerts including the Chinese Earthquake and Bangladesh Flood disasters, German Twinning of Bolton with Paderborn plus Labour Party & TGWU conferences and many other appeals. Ann's undaunting social awareness led her to write, and she produced many and various articles throughout her life as well as a plethora of poetry, music and written refelctions. All this...and she also managed 2 families and 8 children. Now in Cornwall since 1990, Ann is still writing, making music and still winning awards such as, best singer in Cornwall and best Cameo role at the 'Calor Gas Panto Awards' for several years, plus she is a member of...the very auspicious...CORNWALL SONGWRITERS and worked in the celebrated 'Cry of Tin'. Ann performs in her own right and has of late, been recording & producing some of her best and favourite music and poetry to CD at her local 'MILKING PARLOUR STUDIO'. |
