Anntuatha,
aka Annmarie, aka Ann Phillips, has been invloved in music and theatre
and has sung for many years both in the North, (where she is known as
Annmarie), and South-West of England and now lives in Cornwall where she
is a member of the 'Cornwall Songwriters'.
The celtic links of Ann's Life led to her taking the psudonym Anntuatha
and hence the name of this site.
This site is to allow access to the world of 'Annmarie', her music, her
poetry and the long and deep reflection of the simple understandings of
our own society and lives.
Ann has had a rich life interacting and serving the community both in
her private life as a performer/writer and her public life in the Trade
Union movement. Her skill to examine, reflect and sometimes parady the
obvious, (and usually industrial), ills and injustices of our society
are more than evident in her songs and poetry, but also very apparent
is the romance and her love for Life.....and Love.
No rhetoric about Ann would be complete without mentioning her family,
with her six sons, 2 daughters and her wonderful but sadly late husband,
Tony Phillips. Tony and Peter, (her youngest son), have been one of the
driving forces of the last 15 years until Tony's untimely death in 2004.
Peter is on his way to becoming a singer/songwriter/performer in his own
right working with a number of bands in London while forming his own creative
product.
